Itinerary
The tour begins at the Theater of Marcellus, one of the most important theaters of ancient Rome. Through the virtual reconstruction you will see this magnificent building in its original form, complete with three tiers of arches and a capacity of up to 15,000 spectators. The contrast between the current ruins and the splendor of the past is immediate and striking.
Continuing along Via dei Fori Imperiali, the bus takes you through the political and social heart of ancient Rome. The screens show the Forums in their full glory: the Forum of Trajan with its Basilica Ulpia, the Forum of Augustus with the Temple of Mars Ultor, and the Forum of Caesar. You will see intact columns, majestic temples, imposing basilicas, and the daily life that filled these spaces two thousand years ago.
The emotion peaks when the VR Bus passes alongside the Colosseum. The 3D reconstruction shows the amphitheater in its complete form: four perfectly preserved tiers of arches, the velarium at the summit (the awning system that shaded spectators), the statues that decorated every arch, and the architectural details lost over the centuries. It is as though time has stood still.
The tour continues toward the Circus Maximus, the largest stadium of antiquity. The virtual reconstruction shows it at its peak capacity of 250,000 spectators: you see the tiered seating running the full length of the valley, the central spine with its obelisks, the carceres (the starting gates for the chariots), and the complete structure that hosted the famous chariot races.
